Everywhere Nowhere
Ubique Nusquam
In 1833, to reflect its role on every battlefield, King William IV ordered that Royal Artillery should bear the additional title of Ubique (‘Everywhere’) in place of all battle honours won by individual units. After the WWII, Royal Artillery facilities have been principally replaced by living quarters, supporting low-cost houses with a serious lack of public spaces and services. In one word, those areas of Woolwich can be called “nowhere places”
The proposal introduces elements picked-up from other realities, which are the Royal Artillery battlefields in the history, specifically from the WWI.
2015, by commemorating the hundredth anniversary of the WWI, the Royal Artillery may be able to promote a new public infrastructure for the inhabitants of Woolwich.
